Beaumont welcomes USA Softball of Texas to the Beaumont Athletic Complex on May 26-28, 2017 for the 8 and Under Texas State Championship.

“We’re excited to bring another State Championship to Beaumont,” says Linda George, USA Softball District 39 Commissioner. “We have players coming from all over Texas to participate in the tournament and with it being our 65th Anniversary this year we are expecting a record turnout.”         

With 80 teams and nearly 2,500 attending the championship tournament, the Beaumont CVB is expecting an influx of roughly $510,000 into Beaumont’s economy. This money comes from overnight hotel stays as well as money spent on gas, eating at restaurants and shopping at local stores. The opening ceremony takes place at the Beaumont Athletic Complex on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with an official welcome from a City of Beaumont dignitary. Games will begin shortly after at 5:30 p.m. Play will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27 and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2017 with the championship game being scheduled for around 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
