Beaumont Museums

Beaumont has been dubbed the Museum Capital of Texas years ago because Beaumont has more museums per capita than any other city of its size in Texas. Explore the history of the Texas oil industry at the Texas Energy Museum where human-like robotic characters bring to life the discovery of oil at Spindletop and explain the exploration, production and refining process through fascinating exhibits and hands-on experiences. Nearby, the Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum lets visitors experience wildcatter life in a turn-of-the-20th Century replica boomtown. The museum includes a working replica gusher, blacksmith shop, re-enactments and more.

For a photo opportunity, you'll find the original World's Largest Fire Hydrant at the Fire Museum of Texas. Inside, visitors can explore fire engines and firefighting equipment dating back to 1856. The Babe Didrikson Zaharias Museum pays tribute to our own hometown legend who is known as the greatest female athlete of the 20th Century.  Read on below to check out all the museums to enjoy.
