First Thursdays on Calder
First Thursday of Every Month
First Thursdays on Calder takes places in downtown Beaumont on the first Thursday of every month from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. With free live music along with shopping and dining discounts, First Thursdays is a great way to support local businesses while enjoying a night out on the town. Scroll down to read more.
Shopping:
During First Thursdays, Ella + Scott offers 25% off your entire purchase from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. along with a free glass of wine to those of legal age. This trendy boutique is all about fashion and fun. Stop by to let them help you put together an outfit (or two)! Insider Tip: Be sure to follow Ella + Scott on Instagram for surprise sales.
You can also peruse local artisans displaying their wares on the covered sidewalk of the historic Mildred Building during First Thursdays. From art to jewelry, you'll find something unique and support Beaumont's thriving art scene too. Be sure to stop into Down to Earth, which features locally-made organic lotions, shampoos, oils, teas and more. Insider Tip: Be sure to follow Down to Earth on Facebook for details on Revitalizing Fridays and other special events.
Dining:
Also located inside the Mildred Building, you'll find Katharine & Co. This locally-owned restaurant has been around for years and is a staple to downtown Beaumont's dining scene. Usually open for lunch only, Katharine & Co. is open late for First Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Along with delicious appetizers, they feature a special dinner menu and a selection of beer or wines.
Just up Calder Ave you'll find Tacos La Bamba. They're famous for their tacos (with good reason) and they have a First Thursday special we simply can't resist - $1 Tacos from 6:00 p.m. to close. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, Tacos La Bamba has it.
Art:
Inside the historic Mildred Building, Finder's Fayre specializes in quality antique furniture, paintings, decorative arts and more. Continue your way towards downtown to the Art Museum of Southeast Texas for extended hours and live music.
Live Music:
Stroll the promenade or sit on the patio at Katharine & Co. to enjoy live music from local artists. Tacos La Bamba, features live music on their outdoor patio as well.
