Despite the pandemic and the past year's challenges, SETX has had a strong showing of new businesses opening. Especially during the first quarter of 2021, you could feel the shift in momentum as people looked to get back to going out and dining out. If you haven't been to these spots yet, give them a big Beaumont welcome and keep these new businesses on your radar.
New/Hot in SETX
Spindletop Cruisers
Get your roll on SETX because bikes are invading Beaumont! Not only are we launching Beau-cycles in the upcoming months, our rentable bike program downtown, but Spindletop Cruisers have made their debut. These hour-long glow-in-the-dark tours are available every weekend and a fun way to see the town at night set to a killer musical playlist.
Bingo at Bom Boms
Looking for a fun lady's activity? Make Bom Boms your new girls' night out headquarters. This café meets historic venue in historic downtown hosts monthly meetups and events with everything from "Bad Moms" to family-friendly pictures with the Easter bunny and is adding bingo to the mix. Their first theme, granny, resulted in hilarious photos and times had by all, so much so that they added more theme nights to the calendar. Plus, they got their start as a balloon company, so you know their backdrops will be super Instagrammable.
Lacuna Tequila Bar
Beaumont's been craving a high-end cocktail lounge since Portus closed (RIP), and Lacuna has more than filled the void. Aimed at tequila education, they shy away from the margarita to focus on Paloma flights, tequila tasters, micheladas, and tequila cocktails like the Lupita Paloma topped with citrus bubble. Their bar snacks are also all house-made Mexican treats and staff an in-house tortilla maker.
Soiree and Vine - Nederland
Cheese to please. Charcuterie has been a major trend this year with many finding a new quarantine hobby creating gorgeous meat and cheese boards. Soiree and Vine is the first in the area to offer a brick-and-mortar location on historic Boston Ave. Stop by for individually packaged “adult lunchables” and overnight oats and snap a photo in their chic wallpapered café.

Kikko Ramen and Poke
Ramen has been a hole in the Southeast Texas food scene for several years, but Kikko has finally opened to the delight of many. The broth is made of pork and chicken bone simmered for over 24 hours, giving all their soups a complex depth of flavor with thick noodles that are comforting and warming. Enjoy a bowl of hot soup, cold poke salad, or a bento box and boba for lunch.
Ko Korean Grill
The second Korea BBQ concept to come to the area, KO from the folks behind Tokyo, will soon be joining the mix. They've spent months custom designing state-of-the-art ventilation systems to provide a clean and safe dining experience
Seoul Korean BBQ
We've anxiously been awaiting the opening of one of the two new Korean BBQ restaurants in the area, and Seoul in Port Arthur has finally made its debut. An all-you-can-eat concept with a distinct Vegas vibe, there are two prices for lunch and dinner when you order from a long list of proteins and then cook them over a grill plate built into your table. Don't miss trying soju, the signature drink of Korea, if you've never had it. Kids are priced by height, which is a little quirky, but it's a great new family-friendly dining experience to try.
Dooley's BBQ
The newest addition to the dining scene downtown, Dooley's grew out of a gas station with BBQ so popular they just had to expand. Try their meat platters, sandwiches, or loaded baked potatoes with mouth-watering ribs, brisket, and sausage. They also sell their own sauces, so you know they're legit.
The LINK LINK
You don't need to offer everything under the sun to have a successful venture; just do one thing really well. That's Link Link's motto who specializes in, yes, homemade beef and turkey sausages. Available a la carte, on a plate, or as a combo, give this new drive-through spot a try. They even have a vegan option!
Pho Crystal
