“We’re in the memory making business,” general manager Steve McGaha said proudly during an interview with Beaumont Business Journal recently, talking about his hotel, the MCM Eleganté Hotel and Conference Center, which just unveiled a $500,000 pool remodel that includes a new extended deck, fresh paint, new tile and resurfacing. New covered cabanas with air conditioning and fans were installed as well, creating private luxury lounges.
The renovations also usher in a new dive-in theater at the hotel scheduled to open on Memorial Day. A large, 21-by-13-foot screen will be set up on the wall adjacent to the pool, allowing guests to watch movies comfortably from the water, cabanas or deck chairs. “People can watch the movie, hear the movie, and still see your kids swimming from the room’s balcony,” McGaha explained.
The pool upgrades were officially completed in April, and the cabanas are available for rental. McGaha continues, “People are going to remember their experience at the pool when they visit us. We’re calling it a contemporary Tuscan look. We need to stay ahead of the curve, that’s where the trend is going now.” Beaumont is known to be competitive with nearby cities like Nacogdoches, Corpus Christi and Lubbock, and this new pool and one-of-a-kind dive-in theater sets the MCM Eleganté Hotel apart.
The hotel has plans to make the pool open year-round for both locals and guests—a significant change from its former April to October opening hours.
