Beautiful history, unique attractions, affordable hotels, easy traffic and tasty restaurants. Sounds great, right? Yes, we are talking about Beaumont! Not only is Beaumont a great place to visit, but it’s also the perfect location to gather for an event and make memories. It’s the kind of thing you don’t think about until you need it. The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau is not just a place to find the best information about Beaumont, but it can also serve as your meeting planning headquarters. The best part = it’s a free service.
“The Beaumont CVB staff and all our stakeholders truly look forward to hosting groups in our city. No matter the size of the convention, we assure you that all the details will be well taken care of, from your site visit until months after your conference is over,” said Dean Conwell CDME, Executive Director.
Writing for the Convention and Visitors Bureau has really opened my eyes to what exactly the “CVB” does. They are really here for you! I recently attended the Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus Convention. People from cities all over the state came to Beaumont to meet up. We took a tour of the city, visited great restaurants and had quality workshops and sessions at the MCM Elegante Hotel. Beaumont truly offers top quality servicing with a five star reputation.
Why the CVB?
Funding for the Beaumont CVB comes exclusively from the City’s Hotel Occupancy Tax. That’s a tax collected by visitors who spend the night in Beaumont hotels. Because of this, the CVB can help you find the best hotel rates, locations and extras you would not get otherwise. But it’s not just about booking a room, it’s about the memories you are making when you are here.
“Beaumont is known for adding a little something extra to enhance the meeting experience,” said Freddie Willard, Director of Sales, “The Convention and Visitors Bureau is all about customization and coming up with innovative ways to share the gift of hospitality with clients. From scavenger hunts and team building experiences to a downtown dine-around through the museum district, the CVB has plenty of ideas to deliver the lagniappe for events.”
The CVB team can set up site surveys of hotels, check out other off-site meeting venues and create a complete itinerary for you and your guests.
Why Beaumont?
- Central Location: Beaumont is conveniently located on Interstate 10 between Houston and Louisiana. Beaumont is only 30 minutes from the Gulf Coast beaches, 40 minutes away from the casinos in Louisiana, and about an hour and a half from Houston and Galveston.
- Accessibility: Getting to Beaumont is quick and easy. Beaumont has direct flight connections on American Airlines at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport (BPT). Hobby or George Bush Intercontinental Airports are only about 90 minutes away. There are various cab companies in Beaumont and Uber is coming February 2016.
- Less Traffic: Have you driven in the Houston area? It’s a nightmare! Getting just a few miles could literally take you an hour. One of the benefits to staying in Beaumont is that you don’t have to worry about traffic or plan everything around rush hour. Pretty much anything you need is 10 minutes away when you are in Beaumont.
- Affordability: Have you ever stayed in a hotel and thought you got a great deal, only to pay $20 parking each night and $20 for breakfast?! Beaumont has one of the lowest per diems in the state of Texas with reasonable pricing at all of its hotels and convention centers. Bonus: parking is free at all Beaumont hotels!
- Bucket-list Moments: Want to hold an alligator? Take a selfie in front of one of the original world’s largest fire hydrant? Beaumont has some pretty cool attractions and museums you can’t see anywhere else.
Who is this for?
How many of you have been part of a group or Facebook page where someone is trying to plan a reunion or big get together? I have. It’s really tough! The CVB can help organize class reunions, Fraternity and Sorority reunions, Military reunions, Regional Conferences, Team sporting events, church conferences and more.
“While they are all very different, the servicing and goals are basically the same. We aim to deliver outstanding planning and event experiences for each group,” said Stephanie Molina, Director of Marketing, Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau, “We strive for repeat business and do what it takes to make sure our guests have an incredible time in our destination.”
Last year Beaumont hosted 125 events, welcomed 99 organizations and 73,339 convention delegates. The annual Hall of Fame reception on February 11th recognizes meeting planners who chose Beaumont as their host city for conferences, sporting events and reunions during 2015. Would you believe this had an economic impact of more than $18 million for the Beaumont area!
