Meet with a purpose. That is what the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) wants to convey when groups choose Beaumont as their next destination for their meeting, conference, or sporting event. Now, more than ever, community involvement is crucial to the success of cities across the world. With travel and tourism taking a big hit, the CVB wants to come back better than ever. With the application of the Beaumont Give Back Program, the CVB wants to bridge the gap between the visitors that host their events in Beaumont to the organizations and individuals that make up our community.
The Beaumont Give Back Program creates community outreach opportunities for meeting and convention clients. The program introduces the association to the community, and the community to the association – where everyone gains a greater sense of belonging and involvement. When hosting an event in a new city, groups have the option for an excursion or pre- or -post trip to explore the city. While the Beaumont CVB will still offer those options, volunteering will now be an opportunity to those attendees.
Volunteering time will not be the only opportunity. Meetings are fast paced and need to adhere to a schedule. If time does not allow it, our sales team will work with planners to “host a nonprofit,” and accept donations on behalf of the group. If donations are hard to travel with, a monetary donation can be arranged to help those in need.
“Giving our meeting planners and attendees a chance to give back to the community is something we are proud to provide,” said Director of Sales, Freddie Willard. “Volunteering is both gratifying and an amazing experience to get involved in the community.”
Whether experiencing local attractions and museums or volunteering their time with the community, groups have the chance to leave a lasting mark during their stay in Beaumont. The Beaumont CVB is here to assist any meeting planner with a number of possibilities to make a successful and memorable meeting.
