Spring Break is right around the corner, and if you’re feeling the “how do we keep everyone entertained without spending a fortune?” pressure — you’re not alone. The good news? Beaumont makes it easy to plan family fun that doesn’t break the budget.

Here’s your guide to free (and almost free) things to do in Beaumont this spring.

Get Outside (For Free!)

Sometimes the best memories don’t cost a thing.

Riverfront Park is perfect for letting the kids run, enjoying river views, and soaking up that fresh Southeast Texas air. Pack a lunch, bring a ball or kite, and make an afternoon of it.

At Cattail Marsh Scenic Wetlands & Boardwalk, families can explore miles of boardwalk and spot wildlife along the way. Stop by the Cattail Marsh Education Center to rent binoculars and turn your walk into a birdwatching adventure. It’s educational, peaceful, and completely free.

Rotary Centennial Playground is another great open-air option for stretching legs and enjoying a relaxed afternoon outdoors.

Explore Beaumont’s History (Without the Big Price Tag)

Beaumont is rich in history — and you can experience much of it for little to no cost.

The McFaddin-Ward House Museum offers free tours of this beautifully preserved historic home. It’s a great way to introduce kids to local history in an engaging setting.

The John Jay French Museum offers admission for just $5 per person, giving families access to the museum and historic grounds.

At the Chambers House Museum, you can also explore a piece of Beaumont’s past for only $5 per person.

And don’t forget the Fire Museum of Texas, home to the world’s largest working fire hydrant (a must-see photo op!). Admission is free, and it’s always a hit with kids.

After a day of exploring, cool off with a snow cone from Mabel’s. It’s the kind of simple, sweet treat that feels like spring break — and keeps everyone happy without stretching the budget.
