On the Water in Beaumont, TX

boating & paddling

Beaumont and Southeast Texas have plenty of places to launch your boat or favorite watercraft and go for a ride. We're surrounded by many bodies of water including the Neches River, the Sabine Causeway, the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and many lakes and bayous.

Local favorites for canoeing and kayaking include Cooks Lake to Scatterman Paddling Trail, which can be accessed right here in Beaumont and Village Creek State Park & Paddling Trail, just north of Beaumont within Big Thicket National Preserve.

With our proximity to so many bodies of water, Beaumont is also ideal for boating. Before heading out on the water, take a few minutes to review the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department website for current information on boating laws, registration and safety.

With all of our options, it's easy to get lost. To help out, we've compiled a list of local hotspots as well as outfitters below. The Texas General Land Office also offers a complete list of public access points. Enjoy the ride!
