We don't like to brag or anything, but our food is worth planning an event around - which is why we have food festivals for all of our favorite dishes in southeast Texas. Beaumont also has an eclectic mix of museums that celebrate everything from art to energy. Our quirky-ness is portrayed throughout these museums that offer a variety of arts & culture exhibits and events. Parents, the kids will love Free Family Arts Day offered quarterly by the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. Plenty of other events just for kids can be found happening year 'round as well.

In Beaumont, we tend to do things a little bigger than other places in Texas. That's especially true of the performing arts you'll find here. Spread throughout the city are world-class concert halls, theaters and arenas that bring the best in performing arts to Beaumont. These same great facilities, along with nightlife hotspots, also support a host of live entertainment acts that can be enjoyed regularly.

Fan-friendly Beaumont has a true love for the game. From watching the Lamar University Cardinals football team bring home a win, to experiencing the hard-hitting action of the Spindletop Roller Girls roller derby team, there are plenty of sporting events to be found in Beaumont. Beaumont may owe its prosperity to oil, but it's not the only natural resources we're blessed to have. With dense forests, sandy beaches and shallow wetlands, southeast Texas is overflowing with outdoor activities. So what are you waiting for? Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow: Living with the Atomic Bomb, 1945-1965 is a fun (and funny) exhibit of Cold War propaganda. Hide underneath your school desks and learn about many interesting (sadly, ineffective) ways of surviving total nuclear devastation. The exhibit explores the ways that Americans experienced the atomic threat as part of their daily lives. Curated by Michael Scheilbach and ExhibitsUSA. The show features more than 75 original objects from the era.
