Team Building at Cattail

Boasting 12 miles of hiking and biking trails, a boardwalk stretching over the marsh, and new education center, Cattail Marsh offers a variety of team building opportunities set to a beautiful backdrop. The activities done at Cattail afford a group the chance to foster cooperation while recharging in the relaxing scenery of the marsh. Whether your team would benefit from more traditional bonding activities in a picturesque location or activations that utilize our unique venue’s features, bring your group to the boardwalk.

Go for a group hike or casual nature stroll. Hold a morning yoga session. Host an escape room to “break out of the boardroom” and get the team reenergized. Have a paint and sip party and create art inspired by the surroundings. Teach the team a new skill or hobby with our free binoculars and disc golf. Host an inspiring speaker, panel or movie screening in the nature center. Utilize our 15-passenger van for a tour or field trip. The opportunities are only limited by your imagination!

About Cattail Marsh Wetlands

Cattail Marsh includes 900-acres of scenic wetlands along with a boardwalk that features two covered platforms, providing access to incredible views of the wetlands’ abundant wildlife. Originally constructed in 1993 by the Beaumont Public Utilities Department as the final phase of Beaumont's wastewater treatment system, this natural and innovative process has attracted the interest of environmentalists and wildlife professionals from across the state.

Today, Cattail Marsh is a wildlife refuge for a variety of aquatic mammals and more than 250 species of birds annually, including: pelicans, egrets, roseate spoonbills, ducks, ibis, doves and red-winged blackbirds. More than eight miles of gravel levee roads are found within the Marsh and allow for a variety of recreational activities, including jogging, biking and horseback riding.

The Boardwalk and Wetlands Education Center

The Cattail Marsh boardwalk extends into the marsh offering views of the wetlands. The boardwalk offers two, covered areas as well as seating to sit and relax while taking in the sights of the wildlife. Starting at the beginning of the boardwalk, the Wetlands Education Center offers a "birds eye view" of the marsh. Equipped with meeting space and wrap around deck, this education center is the perfect escape to learn about the marsh.
