The Gulf of Mexico is the ninth largest body of water in the world and referred to as the "Mediterranean of the Americas." Covering roughly 600,000 square miles, the Gulf of Mexico offers a variety of boating and fishing opportunities. Over 215 species of fish can be found in the Gulf of Mexico including: sea bass, flounder, grouper, snapper, tuna, speckled trout, alligator gar and marlin.
