Summer at the Edison Museum

Summer is in full swing at the Edison Museum! Join us for our summer poster exhibit "Picturing Women Inventors." This wonderful exhibit brought to us by the Smithsonian features several innovative women in STEM. The museum has also created posters to feature the women in Thomas Edison's life. We are also featuring two summer activities. Do you think you have what it takes to work with America's Greatest Inventor? Why not take a shot at our Edison Hiring questionnaire, modeled after Edison's own famous employment quiz it is sure to make you think. This activity is recommended for teens and adults as the questions are difficult. Secondly, we are offering our summer experiment. Did you know Thomas Edison was hard of hearing? What influence did this have on his life? Stop by the museum and pick up your own pair of ear plugs, experience what Edison's life might have been like, and tell us about your experience.
These events will fund now through the end of August during the museums normal business hours Monday- Friday 10:00- 2:00. Changes in the schedule will be posted on our Facebook page. Please call for more information.

Picturing Women Inventors is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, in collaboration with the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation and the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and is sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies IF/THEN initiative and Ericsson.
