What do you like most about Beaumont?
I love that Beaumont is a place where you can put down roots, raise a family, and be in close proximity of attractions and restaurants. Beaumont is one of those places where everyone knows everyone and when you go to an event or just out and about in town, people know you and they genuinely care about you. My kids ask me all the time “Mom, do you know everybody in Beaumont”? And my answer is always, not yet, but that’s my goal!
What is your favorite activity in Beaumont?
My favorite activity would have to be going anywhere there is music. I love concerts at Ford Park or listening to local artists at Madison’s on Dowlen in any genre of music. Of course, my favorite would be singing karaoke at Little Woodrow’s or Pour O9, or anywhere there is a beat and an available microphone.
What is your favorite season?
I’m a Summer girl! I love to be out in the sun, something about feeling the warmth of the sun energizes me. Lucky for me, Southeast Texas has more warm days than most.
What is your favorite space in Beaumont to host an event?
I would have to say the Beaumont Civic Center is by far my favorite place to host an event because it is so versatile. Being from Beaumont, I have seen the Civic Center transform from having Big Bird perform down Sesame Street to the elegant ceiling drapery and chandelier decorations at the annual soirees and galas hosted by the local groups.
What is your favorite place to eat in Beaumont?
I love all the locally-owned restaurants in Beaumont! If I have to pick, I will have to say Carmela’s Mexican Restaurant is my go-to place. But when I’m wanting a down-home southern meal and don’t want to cook it myself, I call on Jessica Boutte with Jessie Mae Heavy Plates where I’m guaranteed to get some great food that’s good for the soul.
