Ballers, Bikers and Bowlers-Beaumont is Booked This Summer!

The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Convention Sales Team is pleased to announce a strong summer event season is ahead. Beaumont is booked and an influx of visitors mean additional tourism dollars for area businesses over the coming months.

June 6-8 will be a good weekend for local tourism with several overlapping sports events filling hotels and area event venues. The Texas State USBC Association State Open Bowling Tournament began the weekend of March 29th and lasts a total of 8 weekends. Each weekend event draws 300-400 bowlers and the tournament will wrap up the weekend of June 14th.

Meanwhile, Beaumont will host 140 teams for the United States Fastpitch Association (USFA) 10U & 12U State Tournament and the annual Spindletop Spin. This happy convergence of events has the Convention & Visitors Bureau working with regional partners and overflow properties in Port Arthur to accommodate the visitors.

"It is wonderful for Beaumont and the surrounding cities to have a packed calendar of summer business. The USFA Tournament wraps up the next weekend with 60 teams, so this means the tourism dollars will only continue. "Freddie Willard, Director of Sales

In July and August, Beaumont will host the Athletx National Baseball Tournament for a two-week tournament lasting July 18-31. The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau has worked closely with tournament promoters to ensure visiting teams are welcomed and able to make the most of their visit. Beyond the immediate summer travel season, the CVB Convention Sales Team is focused on booking future events. A tightly choreographed schedule of monthly sales calls in Austin and exhibiting at industry tradeshows are planned to showcase Beaumont facilities and score future event bookings.

Recent convention business bids won by the CVB include: the Model A Ford Car Club Texas Tour, scheduled June 2015; the National Model Railroad Association Lone Star Regional Association Convention, also set for June 2015; and the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus Mid-Winter Conference, which will be held in January 2016.
