Bowling, Skating or Arcade Play
What kid doesn’t like bowling or skating? Head indoors to Crossroads Bowling Center and Bowl Star for a day of bowling. For classic skating, Manning’s Texas on Wheels is fun for all and you will also find arcades and a snack bar. Colorado Canyon has a huge game room, gemstone and fossil mining and a new laser maze.

Check out a Museum
Did you know Beaumont is home to many historical sites and museums? If the rain is keeping you indoors, head out and check out a few!
The Clifton Steamboat Museum honors our military and civilian heroes. The museum’s art galleries bring to life the Wars fought in Southeast Texas and Louisiana, as well as the Steamboat era, World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. A special gallery in the museum is dedicated to the Boy Scouts with artifacts dating back before the 1960's. The museum also has a gift shop.
You’ve probably seen the giant fire hydrant outside the Fire Museum of Texas. This tribute to firefighters houses a collection of antique engines and firefighting equipment dating back to the 1800s. Take your picture in front of the original World’s Largest Fire Hydrant! Activities for children include the chance to dress up in a firefighter uniforms and drive the fire engine simulator.
The John Jay French House Museum, built in 1845, is one of the oldest surviving houses in Beaumont. The historic pioneer settlement, built by John Jay French, tanner and merchant, is filled with antique furnishings, clothing and pioneer household utensils. Outbuildings on the grounds include a blacksmith shop, tannery, privy and smokehouse.

There is nothing better on a rainy day than to take the family to the moves to sit down and relax! In Beaumont, you'll find Cinemark Tinseltown 15 right off Interstate 10 with many restaurants nearby. Regal Cinemas Star 12 is located at Parkdale Mall where you'll also find plenty of shopping.

For shopping in Beaumont, head to fashionable Dowlen Road and Phelan Boulevard. Style mavens will delight in chic finds at locally owned boutiques like Gaudie and Company, Bungalow and Ella + Scott - where the motto is "Wear it. Rock it." Dowlen Road is also where you'll find the mall and brand name stores. And if antiques are more your style, you'll love Beaumont's Old Town Antique District on lower Calder Avenue, where you'll uncover exquisite European furnishings at Burns Antik Haus or vintage finds at Urban Habitat.
