Southeast Texans would probably argue that summer - not winter - is the most wonderful time of the year. (Blue skies & warm sun anyone?) But the holidays are pretty fun too with plenty of events happening throughout the area. Port Arthur has a few planned, highlighted below, sure to make your holidays a little brighter. After all, who can say no to sleigh ride & hot chocolate? Air boats & Santa? Now that's a Cajun Christmas!

Holiday Extravaganza
December 19, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Museum of the Gulf Coast
700 Procter Street
Port Arthur, Tx 77640
Admission: $3 - $6

Enjoy a sleigh ride as part of Holiday Extravaganza at Museum of the Gulf Coast. Rides will be from the museum to Pompeiian Villa and back. Guests may enjoy cocoa and a self-guided tour of the villa. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and the final pick up for a ride to Pompeiian Villa will end at 1 p.m. There will be a showing of the movie, “Elf,” at noon.

A Very Marshy Christmas
December 19, 3:00 pm
Sea Rim State Park
19335 State Hwy 87
Sabine Pass, Tx 77655
Admission: $3 (park entry)

Ever wonder how Santa gets around in the marsh to visit the good little boys and girls?  By air boat of course! On December 19, Santa and Mrs. Claus have booked Sea Rim’s marsh side cabin and will be arriving by air boat. Children will have a photo opportunity with Santa beginning at 3 p.m. Come early with the family to enjoy Sea Rim’s marsh boardwalk and shore. Birders love Sea Rim, which is a great place for the family in any season.
