In the wake of Hurricane Laura, Beaumont understands what devastation looks like. In our times of need, our friends across the state line have been there for us and now, they need our help. The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to bring some relief to our friends in Lake Charles, Louisiana. On Wednesday, September 9, 2020, both the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau and Chamber of Commerce, along with the United Way of Beaumont, will be at the Stine Home and Yard in Lake Charles (4501 Nelson Rd., Lake Charles, Louisiana 70605) serving up hot food from the Zummo’s Meat Company food truck, cool treats from Mabel's, and doling out recovery kits with supplies to area residents.

We want to extend the invite to our community members, organizations, and groups to coordinate with us. Whether it is dropping off supplies or utilizing efforts within Louisiana, we want to do the most we can as we bring Beaumont to Lake Charles.

“Beaumont was incredibly lucky last week,” stated Beaumont CVB Executive Director, Dean Conwell. “What happened in Lake Charles could have easily been us. From Rita To Imelda and everything in between, Louisiana residents have gone above and beyond to help our city and we want to return the favor.”

We want to encourage all that are willing to donate food, hygiene, and household supplies to the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce (1110 Park St., Beaumont, Texas 77701) by Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
