Beaucycles FAQ

  1. How do I rent a bike?

Each docking station has mounted instructions to follow in front of each bike. Download the app, Movatic, found on the bike stand, and follow the prompts.

  1. How much does it cost?

$5 for 3 hours and $1 for each additional hour. You will be charged until you return the bike to a docking station and click end ride on the Movatic app.

  1. When will the bikes be available?

Bikes are available to rent from the Beaumont CVB (505 Willow Street) and Beaumont Civic Center (701 Main Street).

  1. How will I know where to go?

We have color-coded wayfinding stickers on the ground downtown highlighting attractions to see and suggested routes on our website.

  1. Can the bikes only be ridden downtown?

No, but you’ll be charged until you return it to a docking station, which are only located downtown. We hope to expand the program to include other areas like Tyrrell Park in the future.

  1. What happens if I have an issue while riding like a flat tire?

Return the bike to the nearest docking station and click “report a problem” in the app to submit a support ticket.

  1. Aren’t you worried the bikes will get stolen?

No, you need a credit card on file to rent, and each bike is equipped with a lock and key specific to that bike. If you stop and visit an attraction or restaurant, utilize the U-bar and key (located by the back tire) to lock the bike while you explore downtown.

  1. Can the bikes be left anywhere? Will they be discarded downtown?

No, they must be returned to a docking station to stop payment.

  1. How do I release bike from stand?

Release kick stand from under bike and pull out bike from the lock when bike releases.

Suggested Bike Routes

We’ve highlighted notable architecture, photo spots, where to shop, grab a bite, and cool off. While Beaumont in its entirety is relatively large, the downtown is fairly compact and very walkable or bikeable, with most of the major attractions within just 1.5 miles of each other.
