Beaumont Destination Training - November 16, 2006
The Beaumont Convention & Visitors Bureau invites you, to participate in Beaumont's FREE Destination Training Program.
This training is designed to better prepare your sales staff and front line personnel to better assist your guests/customers about things to see and do in Beaumont. The program will also provide insight on how the Beaumont CVB promotes our area to the tourism, sports and meetings markets.
At the conclusion of the program, each participant will receive a Beaumont Resource Manual which will be updated periodically. Participants will also receive a certificate of completion at the end of the training course.

The Fire Museum grounds will be full of Hot Rods, Street Rods, Muscle Cars, Antique and Classic Cars, Mustangs, Trucks and Vettes for every car enthusiast to relish. Treat yourself to the food vendors that will be serving everything from pork-a-bobs to hamburgers and funnel cakes.
The Fire Museum will also be open on Saturday for the public to tour. The mission of the Fire Museum of Texas is to preserve, collect and exhibit the history of the fire service and to provide visitors with knowledge of life-saving fire safety facts. It is the official state museum housed in Beaumont’s historic 1927 Old Central Fire Station. A Season of Giving
The Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission is facilitating a Regional Give2TheTroops campaign to ensure those defending our freedom have a nicer holiday. Give2TheTroops is a national program supporting the physical, moral and spiritual health of America’s armed forces in combat zones around the world through letters and care packages. Goodies collected by SETRPC will be sent to Texans serving oversees just in time for the holidays! Contributions are tax deductible.
You can drop your collected items no later than November 2, 2006 at SETRPC Monday – Friday between 8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-5:00pm. Or drop in and drop off your goodies at our designated Care Packaging event on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 10:00am.

The 13th Annual Girls' Haven Gumbo Cook-off and Festival at the Crockett Street Entertainment District in downtown Beaumont. The cook-off, live music and carnival like games will be from 11am - 6pm. “Pour Les Enfants”, is Garth House’s main fundraiser each year. It is a fun evening of gourmet dining provided by The Chef’s Association, live, and silent auctions with all proceeds used to run the programs on a daily basis. Garth House mission is to, “ lessen the trauma to child victims of severe physical and sexual abuse during the investigative, prosecutorial, and healing processes”. Garth House provides the child victim a safe environment to tell their story. This years Co-Chairmen are Christopher Plaunty and Sheila Umphrey.
