The staff at the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau is here to help cut your research time with press kits, FAM trips and more.Texas District Anchor & Pilot Club"The promotions all year were a big help in motivating attendees. I think the services of the CVB were outstanding. You exceeded my expectations! We were able to entertain and train the students with the grant from the city. Stephanie was wonderful with her promotions. Pat was outstanding in preparing name badges and speaker gifts. Rebecca was always there coordinating all of our needs. I do think that the success was partially due to working with the CVB early. Definitely. I will work with Pilot Governors in the future and encourage them to use CVB services, but I have found that not many compare to Beaumont!"- Texas District Anchor& Pilot ClubNews Releases

Susie Luquette Accepts Convention Servicing Manager Position for The Beaumont Convention & Visitors
Susie Luquette has joined the City of Beaumont's Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) as its new Convention Servicing Manager. Luquette is a recent student of Graceland University in Iowa where she studied Public Relations. She is also a graduate of Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) where she received her Associates of Arts & Sciences in Hospitality Management. She has numerous years experience in both public relations and customer service. Luquette began her career in the hospitality industry at Poblano Grill and later transferred to Suga’s Deep South Cuisine Restaurant & Jazz Bar. Before joining the CVB team, she was also employed as the Convention Servicing Manager at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Beaumont Plaza. “The Beaumont CVB is known for its award-winning hospitality,” says Freddie Willard, Director of Sales for the Bureau. “We pride ourselves on our unique one-on-one service that makes it simple and easy for meeting planners to get a good fit with their accommodations and facility needs. I think Susie is going to be a great addition to our team and will continue to provide that same hospitality our clients have been receiving for years,” she continues. The Convention Sales Manager is responsible for interviewing meeting planner clients to determine their needs and the services that can be provided by the CVB using a formula which includes number of hotel rooms blocked, room rate, and past history. Servicing may include: providing and printing name badges, news releases, official welcome by a city official, banners, preparing itineraries, help with registration and other needs. The servicing manager also recruits volunteers and administers our volunteer program. The position works closely with the sales staff to ensure that all conventions, meetings, sporting events, reunions or other events have everything they needs for the success of their event. "I feel like this job is a perfect fit for me,” says Luquette. “A primary responsibility of the position involves the ability to be aware of the needs of others, such as convention clients. Through several personal experiences, including my father being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 8 years ago, I have become increasingly aware of the needs of others and how I can better serve those around me,” she continues. “I am very excited to get to know the clients and what I can do to make their meeting experience in Beaumont more pleasurable.” The Beaumont CVB is the official destination marketing organization for Beaumont, TX. Our mission is to entice groups, conventions and meetings to choose Beaumont as their meeting destination. These groups impact the local economy through hotel occupancy taxes and tourism dollars that significantly affect the economic development of Beaumont. Tourism dollars are “new money” brought into the local economy. Media contact for the Beaumont CVB is Stephanie Molina, (409) 880-3170 or email smolina@ci.beaumont.tx.us.
