Pompeiian Villa

The Pompeiian Villa, sometimes called the “Billion Dollar House,” was built in 1900 for Isaac Ellwood, the “Barbed Wire King.” However, the home was soon sold to James Hopkins, president of the Diamond Match Company. The grandiose home is an authentic replica of a Pompeiian home of 79 A.D. and has features including rooms built around a traditional Roman peristyle and a three-sided courtyard to which each room has access.
