It's a Good Time to Have a Great Time at the Fair! The YMBL South Texas State Fair features a Carnival Midway for the kids along with a Kids Fun Zone where young fair goers can ride camels and horses as well as get up close and personal with animals at the petting zoo.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) showcases the country's top cowboys and cowgirls at the YMBL Championship Rodeo while locals present their masterpieces at the School Art, Quilt and Photo Show. There's also a Livestock & Poultry Show as well as a Youth Animal Auction. And, of course, what's a fair without fair food and merchandise? Over 100 vendors will be on hand to ensure you have a great selection to choose from. Fair performers will also provide non-stop entertainment throughout the fair.

Carnival Americana Midway
The South Texas State Fair continues the 50+ year tradition it established with the Bill Hames Show by offering an exciting and fun-filled Carnival Midway provided by Fort Worth based Carnival Americana. Fair-goers' will again enjoy their favorite rides plus some new and exciting experiences. Unlimited ride wristbands are $20-$25 (on select days only). Individual tickets are $1 or a strip of 24 for $20. Carnival Hours: Monday - Thursday, gates open at 5:00 pm. Friday, gates at 12:00 pm. Saturday, gates at 10:00 am. Sunday, gates at 12 Noon.
YMBL Championship Rodeo
Catch all the thrills and spills of Pro Rodeo! The Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) showcases the country's top cowboys and cowgirls and promotes high quality, professional level Rodeo. This event is sure to bring the drama, excitement and intensity that is inherent in rodeo to Ford Arena. General Admission seating at the Rodeo is FREE with the purchase of a Fair gate admission ticket on the day of each Rodeo performance.
School Art, Quilt and Photo Show
The School Art Show, appearing daily in the Ford Exhibit Hall, features art from various schools in Jefferson county and surrounding communities. In addition, a quilt show, which is open to the general public to enter, has both a Large and Small Quilt division with each having a Hand and Machine category. There is no cost to enter and ribbons will be awarded. There will also be an open Photography and Graphic Art contest. This contest includes both youth and adult divisions. Open daily.
HEB Kids Fun Zone
This year the Ford Pavilion will come alive with the "HEB KIDS FUN ZONE". There will be carnival rides special for younger fairgoers along with games, food and the all new Monster Mural - 20 foot by 5 foot interactive coloring wall. Also included will be the Double R Exotics Petting Zoo along with Camel & Pony Rides. Kids can get up close with species they have only read about or seen in the movies. Hand-sanitizing stations are located just outside the petting zoo. Camel Rides, $5.00. Pony Rides, $5.00. Photos are available for purchase. Open daily.

Fair foods. Mmm ... where to start? Perhaps the deep-fried Oreos, or the freshly squeezed lemonade? Whatever you decide, we can all agree that Fair foods are the best.
