“Eat a Bug!” Family Arts Day is one of AMSET’s most popular events, where children and their families are tempted to try the creepy, crawly delicacy of fried crickets. Hands-on art activities focus on the many cultures of our region and the main gallery exhibition.
Visitors will learn about the current exhibit on view through hands-on art activities as well as Day of the Dead and Latin American crafts such as decorated sugar skulls, cut paper designs and piñatas. Entertainment includes Latin American music and dancing. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.
Free Family Arts Day are held quarterly at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. Admission is always free and kid-friendly events relate to current exhibits at the museum. Refreshments and lively entertainment are also provided.
