Daniel E. Chand (“Danny”) is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Kent University. He received his Ph.D. in Public Policy in the Policy Management specialization at the University of Arkansas and his Master’s in Political Science from Illinois State University. His research focuses on nonprofits in the policy process and the implementation of immigration policy. Prior to earning his Ph.D., he spent a number of years working with nonprofits on both development and advocacy projects. From 2006 through 2008, he served as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Zambia. This program will focus on his Grandfather, Pandit Mehar and his journey of going from an Indian Immigrant to an American Citizen during the KKK era in Beaumont TX. Event will held at the Reaud Honors College on Jim Gilligan Way. Room 120. Refreshments will be served.
