Azaleas are among Beaumont's, and the South's, favorite blooms. Along with Rhododendrons, azaleas belong to the genus Rhododendron (fancy name, huh?). This family of flora comprises more than 800 species and 10,000 named selections! Azalea blooms are typically funnel shaped, have five stamens and are commonly referred to as "Royalty of the Garden".
In Beaumont, you can experience these beautiful blooms for just three short weeks (4 if we're lucky) in the spring, beginning late March and ending in early April. To make sure you catch a glimpse, we've put together a quick list of spots you're guaranteed to see them.

The Oaks Historic District is the largest historic district in the State of Texas and it's located in downtown Beaumont.
