This fun pumpkin patch benefits the youth program at the church. There are several different “photo op” areas set up for you to come and enjoy. You can also take a pumpkin home. Pumpkins range from $2 - $55. The money raised pays for scholarships for summer youth camps.

What’s more Halloween than a hay ride and pumpkins? Hosted by the Beaumont Heritage Society, the annual Pumpkin Walk & Haunted Halloween Tour includes a pumpkin decorating craft for the kids and a haunted tour of the historic John Jay French House. There will also be food trucks and families are encouraged to picnic on the grounds of the museum.

Did you know Shangri La hosts the largest Scarecrow Festival in Texas? Dozens of hand-crafted scarecrows are on display throughout the gardens! Each scarecrow is created by community organizations, businesses, schools and families using repurposed and recyclable materials. Scarecrow designs range from funny, cleaver, wacky and weird! Visitors are asked to vote for their favorite scarecrow!

Haunted Halloween Tour (and Heritage Happy Hour) - The Chambers House

Heritage Happy Hour is an on-going partnership between the Beaumont Heritage Society and Giglio Distributing Company. Each event highlights both a historical exhibit, as well as a craft beer. Wander the halls of the historic home with a one of a kind look into the past. There will be costumed actors and a DIY halloween mask station for the kids.

Dinosaur Day, put on by the Texas Energy Museum, is an educational program featuring outdoor activities where children learn about dinosaurs and how fossils are found and studied. Guests get to excavate their own dinosaur from the “fossil-pit!” Children’s take home activities include DIY Fossils, a stegosaurus hat, and making fossil replicas.
