Beaumont loves meetings, reunions, sporting events and conferences; but, these events wouldn't be possible without the planners who organize and coordinate them. So, we take a moment each year to honor their contribution to the success of tourism in Beaumont. Our Hall of Fame reception gives us the chance to recognize planners who hosted events and conferences in Beaumont during the previous year.

It's usually a pretty festive event, too. We hire a band, munch on some grub and kick up our boots. (After all, what's a party without food, music and dancing?)

But, the real highlight of the night comes when we announce our Service Award winner. This award goes to a special someone who has shown extreme dedication in helping bring tourism business to Beaumont.  Whether it's helping plan or organize a meeting, going above and beyond for a guest at one of our hotel properties, or simply providing exceptional customer service to an out of town visitor, this recipient knows how to make Beaumont look good. The winner is kept secret and revealed at the close of the reception to a surprised guest of honor. (It's kind of a big deal.) You can check out the complete list of our past Service Award winners on our website.

So who comes to Beaumont for meetings? Well, groups of all types. In 2010 Beaumont hosted the Paranormal Investigators, The Elks Association, American Legion and Texas Nonprofit Theaters, just to name a few. Of course, we're known for our sports venues so we had our fair share of cheer and dance competitions as well as national softball and baseball tournaments. With over 112 organizations and 147 different events, we helped welcome 65,186 delegates into our fair city. Not bragging or anything, but that brought $17,091,971 to Beaumont (and helped pay our bills), so you could say we're happy.

Of course, we couldn't mention Hall of Fame without giving a big shout-out to Susan Luquette, our Servicing Manager. As the coordinator for our convention clients and Hall of Fame, she's the one who makes the magic happen. Thanks for making us look good Susie!
