It's "freezing" in Beaumont this week! Ok, so I may be slightly exaggerating because it's technically not freezing. However, to all of us who are accustomed to mild temperatures, these chilly morning lows have us bundled up and seeking ways to stay warm. There's almost nothing better than some spicy hot gumbo on days like today, so guess what is just around the corner? The Girls Haven Gumbo Festival!
Make plans to head over to Beaumont for the Gumbo Festival on February 19th! We've spoken with the organizers and it sounds like it will be a fantastic and delicious event! Lots of live music, rides and games for the kids and young at heart, plus lots of spicy, hot GUMBO!!!
The event will be held at Parkdale Mall near Dillards (off Hwy 69N and Dowlen Rd). This annual event raises funds for Girls Haven, a wonderful charity that has served Southeast Texas for years. We sure hope to see you there! If you make it before we do, please save us a bowl or two... or three!
