Through unique collections, exhibitions, public programs and outreach in the visual arts, the mission of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas is to provide education, inspiration and creative vision throughout Southeast Texas. 

One of the best things about Beaumont and southeast Texas is the abundance of artistic talent found throughout the area. Perhaps it's because we start cultivating artists at a young age with programs like Free Family Arts Days at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas. Held quarterly, Free Family Arts Days take place on a Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is always free and kid-friendly events relate to current exhibits at the museum. During the program, kids are able to have hands-on interaction with a variety of art mediums and encouraged to let their creativity

The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) hosts two summer exhibitions, Sherry Owens: Fabric of Life and FRESH: Recent Acquisitions. Both will be on display from June 10 – September 10, 2017 in the main galleries. On Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., AMSET will honor the artists and their works at a free and open to the public opening reception. Dallas artist, Sherry Owens, will give a tour and gallery talk. Join the Downtown Museum District on the grounds of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas and Texas Energy Museum at 500 Main Street for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Party from 3:30 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015.   Children and their families are invited to celebrate the holiday season with hands-on activities at this festive celebration complete with a visit from Santa Claus! Admission is free and open to the public.  Bring the entire family and light up the season by creating festive ornaments, decorating holiday cookies, and visiting with Santa Claus
